Caspian Kingdoms and Silk Road Cities

From Caspian shores to the great cities and mountain villages of the Silk Road

THE JOURNEY

A closer connection to the place.

A twenty-one-day private journey connects Azerbaijan’s Caspian capital and Caucasus foothills with Uzbekistan’s great Silk Road cities. Discover Baku’s medieval walls, the fire traditions of Absheron, copper workshops in Lahij and Sheki’s royal craftsmanship before flying to Tashkent. The route then reaches the Buddhist and Hellenistic archaeology of Termez, far beyond the best-known Central Asian monuments.

Samarkand’s blue-tiled masterpieces give way to the villages of the Nurata Mountains, with optional walks and home cooking in Ukhum and Hayat. Continue through Gijduvan’s pottery traditions to Bukhara, cross the Kyzyl Kum to Khiva and finish with the remarkable Savitsky collections in Nukus. Private guiding, full-board meals and personal transfers frame a journey that balances urban splendour with rural encounters; village accommodation is intentionally simple.
