The Ubangi River, Boali Falls and the forest communities near Bossongo
THE JOURNEY
A closer connection to the place.
Begin on the banks of the Ubangi River and explore the landscapes and communities within reach of Bangui. A river excursion provides views across the water towards the Democratic Republic of Congo, while the road to Boali leads to one of the region’s best-known waterfalls. A separate journey towards Bossongo brings a closer look at local life and forest knowledge.
This four-day, three-night journey focuses on Bangui, Boali and nearby community encounters, finishing at Bangui airport. It offers a compact introduction to the Central African Republic’s river landscapes and living traditions. Dzanga-Sangha and gorilla tracking are not included in this itinerary.

WHEN TO TRAVEL
Choose the right time for your journey.
Recommended months: December and January
Typical daytime temperatures: Approximately 31–34°C
Typical night temperatures: Approximately 18–23°C
December and January are the preferred months for this short Bangui and Boali journey, bringing a drier period and easier conditions for road excursions. Expect warm to hot afternoons of approximately 31–34°C and nights around 18–23°C. There is no genuinely cool season, so morning visits are more comfortable than midday touring. November can still bring showers, while February and March are hotter. Light clothing and a layer for early starts suit these conditions.
Temperatures are approximate seasonal averages, not a forecast. Final dates, access and local arrangements are confirmed before booking.
