India — Palaces, Tigers & Sacred Skies

A personally arranged journey through remarkable places, with time for the details that make them memorable.

THE JOURNEY

A closer connection to the place.

An Indian journey should leave room for contrasts: the pleasure of arriving somewhere new, the anticipation before a wildlife outing, and the quiet attention that a beautiful building asks of you. Private air travel connects the chapters, with time on the ground for the experiences that make each place distinctive.

Midasia Routes brings the practical details together with personal care. The journey combines guided exploration with selected choices, so that different interests can find their place within the same route. Distinctive accommodation adds another dimension to the experience, from a tented retreat to the atmosphere of historic cities.

DAY 03

Into Tiger Country

Leave Mumbai by charter flight to Jaipur, then continue overland towards Ranthambore. The countryside introduces a different pace, with a camel-cart ride and lunch at Talabgaon Castle breaking the journey. Enjoy the transition from urban streets to rural Rajasthan before reaching your accommodation. An evening wildlife talk prepares you for the following day’s explorations, offering context for the habitats, animal behaviour and patient observation that shape a rewarding safari.

DAY 04

The Forest Awakens

Spend the day exploring Ranthambore on two game drives, looking for wildlife with your naturalist and paying attention to the forest between sightings. Tigers are a possibility rather than a promise; the anticipation and changing landscape are part of the experience. Alternatively, replace the afternoon safari with a visit to Ranthambore Fort. This choice brings a historical perspective to your stay, while the evening offers time to relax at your accommodation.

Begin with Amber Fort, taking time to appreciate the scale of the complex and the architectural details along your route. After lunch, continue to Jaipur’s City Palace, where the setting introduces another chapter of the city’s royal history. The day also includes Jantar Mantar, whose monumental instruments turn astronomical observation into an architectural experience. DAY 07

Choose Your Perspective

Choose your preferred perspective on Jaipur: a cycling excursion, the Nahargarh water-history walk, or an optional visit to the Badal Mahal craft project. Access to the craft project requires separate supplier confirmation, so this option must be agreed in advance. A blessing at the hotel, lunch and a cooking demonstration follow. The day combines a more personal exploration of the city with an opportunity to appreciate the preparation and flavours of the region’s food.

OVERNIGHT · Jaipur

DAY 08

Marble to Sacred Waters

Fly by charter from Jaipur to Agra for a visit to the Taj Mahal. Explore the monument with your guide, allowing time to appreciate its overall composition and the smaller details of its marble craftsmanship. Later, continue by air to Varanasi, where you spend the night. This is a day of contrasting settings, linking Agra’s celebrated monument with the river city that becomes the focus of the next stage of your journey.

OVERNIGHT · Varanasi

DAY 09

Faith Beside the River

Travel to Sarnath to explore its ruins and Buddhist museum, considering a different strand of the region’s religious heritage. Your guide helps place the remains and museum collection in context before you return to Varanasi. In the evening, witness the Ganges aarti beside the river. Allow time to observe the ceremony respectfully, taking in its movement and atmosphere while remembering that this is an active expression of devotion for those participating.

OVERNIGHT · Varanasi

DAY 10

Dawn on the Ganges

Rise early for a sunrise boat ride on the Ganges, observing the waterfront as the day begins. The view from the river offers a different perspective on Varanasi after last night’s ceremony, with time to absorb the changing light and activity along the banks. Later, take your private flight to Delhi and settle into your accommodation. The scheduled farewell dinner brings everyone together to share impressions of the journey before tomorrow’s capital exploration.
