A private, personally arranged journey through history, living cultures and remarkable landscapes.
THE JOURNEY
Travel deeper. Meet the place.
Discover a Philippines of great stories, welcoming kitchens, remarkable wildlife and landscapes that make every generation curious. This private twelve-day journey connects Manila, Cebu and Bohol, balancing the country’s most revealing cultural experiences with time to appreciate them. Inside Manila’s old walls, history becomes a conversation about ships, trade and the making of a nation. Cebu introduces living traditions, skilled makers and the maritime crossroads of the Visayas. In Bohol, extraordinary limestone hills, forest-dwelling tarsiers and riverside communities bring the natural world into focus.
Midasia Routes shapes the journey around your family, with a private vehicle, English-speaking local guides and comfortable accommodation chosen for location as well as character. In larger cities, expect established luxury hotels; in Bohol, spacious suites provide a comfortable base for exploring the island. Family room or connecting-room arrangements are agreed before booking. Meals become opportunities to discover regional flavours, with preferences and children’s needs discussed in advance.
This is an active discovery itinerary: short guided walks, hands-on encounters, museums selected for their stories and wildlife viewed respectfully. The programme keeps the focus on Filipino life rather than resort downtime. Airport assistance, domestic travel, admission arrangements and everyday details are coordinated from arrival to farewell, leaving your family free to enjoy the people and places that make the journey memorable.

Personally welcomed. Looked after throughout.
Your welcome, guide & driver
From your airport meeting point, Midasia Routes coordinates luggage assistance, private transfers and your local guiding team. Vehicles suit the route: comfortable air-conditioned cars or MPVs in cities, and appropriate four-wheel-drive vehicles, boats or charter aircraft where the itinerary requires them.
Illustrative branded vehicle; actual models and regional transport are confirmed before travel.
Amorita Resort · Sea View Pool Villa
A sea-facing bedroom with warm timber details, opening onto a private outdoor space and plunge pool. Amorita on Panglao provides a distinctive example of the accommodation style we consider during the Bohol portion of your family journey.
Your accommodation example · Amorita Resort · Sea View Pool Villa
The Sea View Pool Villa features a king-size bed, a patio and a private plunge pool overlooking the Bohol Sea. The photograph shows this villa category. For a family requiring separate bedrooms, we agree a suitable family unit or additional accommodation at the same property before booking; the pictured villa is an example, not a confirmed allocation for every family size.
We select the best suitable accommodation along the route, with room category, bedding and access requirements agreed before booking. Remote lodges and heritage stays may offer simpler facilities than city hotels. We describe these differences clearly before you reserve.
Every practical detail coordinated
Visa arrangements, airport support, scheduled meals, sightseeing, transport and local guiding are coordinated as one journey. Historic sites, local visits and wildlife excursions follow opening hours, weather conditions and host availability; wildlife sightings and private ceremonies cannot be guaranteed.

DAY 01
Welcome to the Philippines
Your Midasia Routes representative welcomes you at Manila’s designated airport meeting point and assists with the transfer to your hotel. A private vehicle carries your family into the capital, with the first introduction to the city shaped around your arrival time. Your guide explains how the days ahead will unfold and checks meal preferences, walking comfort and the interests of younger travellers. After settling in, take a short orientation in the hotel’s neighbourhood if your flight schedule allows. Manila’s contrasts immediately become part of the story: leafy streets, modern towers, busy everyday commerce and an extraordinary maritime past. Over a welcome meal, sample approachable Filipino flavours while your guide introduces a few local words and the islands you will visit. The first day is kept flexible around the international journey, so that everyone begins tomorrow ready to explore.

DAY 02
Stories Inside the Old Walls
Walk through Intramuros with a guide who turns dates and monuments into vivid family stories. At Fort Santiago, discuss the life of José Rizal and the long history of the riverside fortress. Continue to San Agustin Church, a component of the UNESCO-listed Baroque Churches of the Philippines, where architecture reveals how European ideas were adapted by local craftsmen. The route uses shaded pauses and short walking sections rather than a continuous march through the heat. Lunch introduces regional dishes and the ingredients that connect the islands. In the afternoon, visit selected galleries of the National Museum complex, choosing material that suits the family’s ages and interests. A close look at boats, textiles or natural history helps children connect what they see with the journey ahead. Return to the hotel with time to freshen up before dinner.

DAY 03
Across the Visayas to Cebu
After breakfast, your private transfer takes you to the airport for the included domestic flight to Cebu. Your local Midasia Routes guide meets the family on arrival and accompanies you to your comfortable hotel. The afternoon introduces Cebu as a crossroads of seafaring, trade and cultural exchange. Depending on the flight time, begin with a short visit around the historic centre, then explore an accessible local neighbourhood where daily life is the attraction. Your guide helps decode market produce, introduces favourite snacks and explains the Cebuano language and identity. This is a travel day with a meaningful first encounter rather than an overloaded sightseeing schedule. Over dinner, hear how Cebu’s communities link the central islands and how tomorrow’s monuments connect with much older maritime traditions. All transfers and baggage arrangements are managed for your family.
OVERNIGHT · Cebu
DAY 04
Cebu’s Living Heritage
Explore Cebu’s historic heart with your private guide, visiting Fort San Pedro and the area around Magellan’s Cross and the Basilica Minore del Santo Niño. The narrative includes the island’s existing societies before European arrival, so the story is not limited to colonial monuments. At the National Museum of the Philippines–Cebu, selected displays add archaeological, artistic and natural context. Enjoy lunch at a locally chosen restaurant, with the guide explaining the region’s distinctive cooking. Later, visit a heritage house or neighbourhood appropriate to opening schedules and the family’s interests. Look for the small details that bring history alive: carved wood, household objects and the ways homes responded to a tropical climate. The itinerary alternates indoor and outdoor visits, with a private vehicle close by. Return to your hotel before an unhurried dinner together.

DAY 05
Makers, Music and Island Kitchens
Today moves beyond the main monuments to the people who keep local skills alive. Travel to a working guitar-making area on Mactan, where an arranged workshop visit reveals how wood, patient handwork and a trained ear become a musical instrument. The family can ask questions and see the stages of production without turning a working business into a performance. Continue with a guided market visit and an arranged cooking encounter centred on Cebuano ingredients. Participation is adapted to ages and dietary needs; tasting and conversation are as important as technique. After lunch, visit a community or small cultural collection selected by your guide to deepen the day’s picture of Cebu. The afternoon remains active but manageable, with shade and refreshment stops. Return to the hotel carrying stories of real craftspeople and everyday Filipino ingenuity.
OVERNIGHT · Cebu
DAY 06
By Sea to Bohol
Your driver transfers you to Cebu’s port for the scheduled ferry to Bohol, with the best available seating category arranged. Ferry timing and sea conditions shape the day; your guide manages the practical details and keeps the family informed. In Tagbilaran, meet your Bohol guide and begin with the National Museum’s island story, exploring selected displays on geology, art and local heritage. Continue to your accommodation on Panglao, where a spacious room or suite provides a comfortable base for the next four nights. If the arrival time permits, take a short neighbourhood orientation before dinner. The journey across the water connects two very different island identities: Cebu’s urban and trading energy gives way to Bohol’s rural landscapes and smaller communities. Tomorrow, the island’s extraordinary geology and its best-known wildlife take centre stage.
OVERNIGHT · Bohol
DAY 07
Tiny Primates and Chocolate Hills
Begin with the Philippine Tarsier Sanctuary at Corella, where a local guide explains the needs of these small nocturnal primates. Walk quietly, keep an appropriate distance and follow the sanctuary’s rules: no touching, flash or attempts to disturb resting animals. The visit offers an engaging lesson in conservation rather than a handling experience. Continue inland through agricultural landscapes towards the Chocolate Hills, one of the defining sights of Bohol Island UNESCO Global Geopark. From a recognised viewing area, discover how the limestone landscape was formed and why the hills change colour with the season. Your guide adapts steps and walking distances to the family. Lunch provides an introduction to Boholano cooking, followed by carefully paced stops in rural villages and at landscape viewpoints. Return to Panglao with time to discuss the day’s discoveries over dinner.
OVERNIGHT · Bohol

DAY 08
River Life and the Forest After Dark
Travel to the Loboc area for a day following the connections between river, community and landscape. A locally operated river excursion provides a different view of the island, passing palms, riverside homes and daily activity along the banks. Your guide explains local livelihoods and the river’s place in Bohol’s history. Visit an appropriate village or craft enterprise by arrangement, allowing time for questions and conversation rather than simply taking photographs. After lunch, explore a short shaded trail or heritage stop selected for current conditions and family mobility. In the evening, return to a suitable river location for a guided firefly outing, subject to weather and local operating conditions. Small lights in the trees become a lesson in habitat and conservation. Dinner and all transfers are arranged, with the timing paced to suit younger travellers.
OVERNIGHT · Bohol

DAY 09
Craft, Community and Bohol’s Memory
Spend the day discovering skills and stories that are easy to miss on a standard island circuit. Begin in a local market with your guide, learning about fruits, root crops, fish and the everyday ingredients of Boholano kitchens. Continue to an arranged artisan visit, where basketry, weaving or another active local craft introduces the patience behind handmade objects. Encounters are agreed with the hosts and purchases are entirely optional. After lunch, visit Baclayon’s historic church area and discuss the island’s religious heritage and recovery after the 2013 earthquake. A short coastal or village walk offers a view of ordinary island life without scheduling a beach afternoon. Your final evening in Bohol brings the family together over a regional meal, with time to reflect on the connections between culture, landscape and the people who have welcomed you.
OVERNIGHT · Bohol
DAY 10
Return to the Capital, Discover a New Neighbourhood
Transfer privately to Bohol–Panglao Airport for the included flight back to Manila. Your driver meets you on arrival and takes you to your hotel. Returning two nights before the international departure creates a comfortable margin in the programme while opening space for another side of the capital. Depending on flight timing and traffic, explore a selected district with your guide, focusing on food, architecture or contemporary creative life. A short visit to a local shop or craft gallery can introduce Filipino design without a pressured shopping stop. Over lunch or dinner, compare what the family has encountered in Manila, Cebu and Bohol: languages, ingredients, buildings and the many ways island communities remain connected. The afternoon’s exact order is planned around the domestic flight, and the private vehicle makes the transition straightforward.
OVERNIGHT · Manila
DAY 11
A Family’s Final Philippine Discoveries
Your final full day in Manila follows a carefully selected cultural route. Visit Ayala Museum’s chosen galleries, where miniature historical scenes and remarkable craft traditions can prompt questions across generations. Your guide connects those stories with places already seen, helping the family build a clearer picture of the country rather than adding another list of sights. Continue with an arranged food or craft experience, tailored to the interests that have emerged during the journey. There is time for a meaningful souvenir stop if desired, with your guide explaining materials and provenance. A farewell meal celebrates regional flavours and the people met along the way. This day also gives the itinerary a useful operational buffer after the island section, while remaining a full day of discovery. Return to your hotel for your final night in the Philippines.

DAY 12
Farewell, Philippines
Enjoy breakfast before your private transfer to Manila’s international airport. The departure time is planned with generous allowance for city traffic and airport formalities. Your Midasia Routes representative assists at the permitted airport meeting and drop-off points, helping bring the practical arrangements of the journey to a smooth close. If the flight departs later, the morning can include a short local walk or time to revisit a favourite nearby place, without adding a distant excursion that could compromise the transfer. The family leaves with more than photographs: conversations with makers, memories of remarkable wildlife, new flavours and a clearer understanding of the islands’ intertwined histories. International flights are arranged separately; the included programme ends with the airport transfer. Any additional hotel use beyond the confirmed room arrangements can be discussed before travel.
