A private journey from Kuala Lumpur to Kuala Lumpur, with two
nights and three days in Brunei—personally arranged by Midasia
Routes.
THE JOURNEY
Two countries. A journey entirely your own.
Discover Malaysia through its contrasts: the layered cultures of
Kuala Lumpur, the tea-covered slopes of the Cameron Highlands, the
living heritage of George Town and the softer rhythm of Langkawi.
Then step into Brunei, where royal landmarks and a historic water
settlement sit within reach of Borneo’s rainforest.
Midasia Routes brings these experiences together as a private
journey designed around your interests and comfort. Your local
guides provide the stories behind the places, while our team
coordinates the rooms, transport, flights and daily arrangements.
There is time for discovery, but also time to pause: three nights
in Langkawi and sensible overnight buffers in Kuala Lumpur give
the route a more comfortable pace.
From your arrival welcome to your final airport transfer, the
intention is personal care without unnecessary complication.
Sightseeing is adapted to the heat and your walking preferences,
meals take account of dietary needs, and local expertise helps
turn a route into a meaningful experience.

THE MIDASIA CARE PROMISE
Personally welcomed. Comfortably carried through the journey.
VIP pickup & private transport
Your representative meets you at the designated airport
meeting point, helps with luggage and accompanies you to your
waiting private vehicle. Air-conditioned sedan or premium MPV
transport is selected for your party, luggage and comfort.
Illustrative branded vehicle; the actual model is specified
before travel.
A room with a sense of place
The Datai Langkawi’s Rainforest Villa is an illustrative
choice: a spacious villa raised among the trees, offering a
distinctive alternative to a standard hotel room.
Your transport, guide and arrival arrangements
Experienced drivers manage the road journeys, with water, light
refreshments and planned comfort stops. English-speaking local
guides lead the scheduled visits, with specialist nature guides
for the rainforest and mangrove experiences. Local teams may
change between destinations, while Midasia Routes coordinates the
complete journey.
We include required Malaysia and Brunei visa arrangements and
standard government visa fees, assist with arrival documentation,
arrange personal meet and greet and coordinate airport services
within permitted access. Your driver and guide know the day’s
programme, preferred pace and dietary needs before setting out.
How we select your accommodation and rooms
We select well-located city accommodation, a comfortable highland
stay and a distinctive island property. Room choices consider
privacy, bedding, ensuite facilities, air conditioning where
appropriate, ease of access and space to relax. Twin beds,
connecting rooms and accessible layouts are requested according to
the travelling party and availability.
At The Datai Langkawi, the Rainforest Villa is approximately 123
square metres and sits on stilts in the rainforest, connected to
the main facilities by pathways. It is an example of the
accommodation style being considered, not a confirmed booking. We
agree the exact property, room category and any access
requirements before reservation.
DAY BY DAY
Your complete 15-day journey
Private arrangements, experienced local guides and time to enjoy
the places you have travelled to see.
DAY 01
Kuala Lumpur — Your Journey Begins
Your Midasia Routes representative welcomes you at Kuala Lumpur
International Airport and coordinates your private transfer.
Airport assistance and luggage support help make the arrival
comfortable. Settle into your accommodation, refresh and take
time to recover from the flight. If arrival time permits, enjoy
a gentle introduction to the KLCC district, where the Petronas
Twin Towers provide a memorable first impression of the capital.
This first outing is deliberately light, with time to sit, enjoy
a drink and absorb the atmosphere. In the evening, gather for a
welcome dinner and discuss the days ahead with your local guide.
OVERNIGHT · Kuala Lumpur
DAY 02
Batu Caves — Colour, Faith & Living Traditions
After breakfast, travel with your private guide to Batu Caves.
Take in the limestone setting, the golden statue and the
colourful stairway before deciding whether to climb to the main
cave. The steps are optional; guests who prefer a gentler visit
can enjoy the forecourt and surrounding sights. Return to the
city for lunch, then discover the old shophouses and lively
streets around Chinatown and Central Market. Your guide explains
the communities, beliefs and trading traditions that have shaped
Kuala Lumpur. Walks are broken into comfortable stages, with
shade and refreshment stops. Return to your accommodation before
dinner.
OVERNIGHT · Kuala Lumpur
Batu Caves · limestone cliffs, colourful steps and sacred
architecture
DAY 03
The Capital’s Many Stories
Explore Kuala Lumpur beyond its skyline, beginning around
Merdeka Square and the historic civic centre. Your guide
connects the architecture with the city’s growth from a trading
settlement into a modern capital. Continue to Kampung Baru for a
different perspective on urban life, with traditional houses and
neighbourhood food traditions close to the towers of the
contemporary city. Lunch introduces more of Malaysia’s varied
cuisine, adapted to your dietary preferences. Keep the afternoon
flexible for photography, browsing or a return to your room.
Today balances guided discovery with time to enjoy the capital
without rushing from one stop to another.
OVERNIGHT · Kuala Lumpur
Kuala Lumpur · heritage landmarks in the heart of the capital
DAY 04
From City Energy to the Tea Highlands
Leave Kuala Lumpur after breakfast and travel north in your
private vehicle towards the Cameron Highlands. This is a
substantial driving day, with winding roads on the final
approach, so the schedule allows comfort breaks and a relaxed
lunch. As the scenery changes, your guide introduces the
region’s agricultural life and the story of its hill stations.
Arrive at your highland accommodation and settle in before a
gentle local outing if you feel refreshed. The cooler air and
green landscape set a different rhythm for the next two nights.
Dinner is arranged with a quiet evening to follow.
OVERNIGHT · Cameron Highlands
DAY 05
Tea Gardens & Highland Life
Spend the day exploring the highlands at an unhurried pace.
Visit a tea estate for views over the planted slopes and an
introduction to tea growing; factory or visitor-centre access
follows the estate’s operating arrangements. Pause over a cup of
tea before continuing to selected produce markets or farm
visits. Rather than attempting every attraction, your guide
concentrates on a few worthwhile stops with time to enjoy them.
A short nature walk can be included where conditions are
suitable, with an easier alternative for anyone who prefers to
avoid uneven ground. Return for time to relax before dinner.
OVERNIGHT · Cameron Highlands
Cameron Highlands · tea gardens across the hills
DAY 06
Penang — An Island of Stories
Travel by private vehicle from the highlands to Penang. Allow
much of the day for the road journey, with regular breaks, lunch
and an introduction to the changing countryside. On arrival,
settle into your accommodation before a short orientation in
George Town, according to your energy and arrival time. The
streets reveal a different chapter of Malaysia: shophouses,
places of worship and the architectural legacy of generations of
traders. Dinner offers an introduction to Penang’s food culture,
with dishes selected to suit your preferences. The evening
remains relaxed after the transfer.
OVERNIGHT · George Town, Penang
DAY 07
George Town — Behind the Shophouse Doors
Explore George Town with a knowledgeable local guide,
discovering its heritage streets, clan traditions and waterfront
communities. The programme combines selected cultural landmarks
with time to notice everyday details: workshops, courtyards and
neighbourhood life. Visit the clan jetty area respectfully,
remembering that these are living communities, then pause for
lunch. During the afternoon, continue to a carefully chosen
temple or heritage house, or follow your interests through the
old town. Walking is paced around the heat, with transport
available between more distant stops. Enjoy dinner and a final
evening in Penang before the journey continues to Langkawi.
OVERNIGHT · George Town, Penang
George Town · historic shophouses and living streets
DAY 08
Langkawi — From Heritage to the Sea
After breakfast, transfer privately to Penang Airport for your
flight to Langkawi, selected once travel dates are agreed. On
arrival, your local team welcomes you and accompanies you to
your chosen island accommodation. The remainder of the day is
intentionally gentle. Settle into your room, enjoy lunch
according to flight timing and become familiar with the
surroundings. There is time for a beach walk, a quiet swim or
simply a shaded seat with a view. Dinner is arranged as part of
your stay. The next three nights give the journey space to
breathe between its cultural chapters.
OVERNIGHT · Langkawi
Langkawi · island time beside the sea
DAY 09
Langkawi — Mangroves, Waterways & Island Nature
Set out with a local guide for a nature-focused boat excursion
through Langkawi’s mangrove environment, with the route selected
according to weather and tide conditions. Look for birdlife and
learn how the waterways support the island’s ecosystems and
coastal communities. Wildlife sightings cannot be guaranteed,
and the visit avoids wildlife-feeding activities. Return for
lunch and a restful afternoon at your accommodation. Guests who
prefer not to take the boat can agree a gentler land-based
alternative before travel. The balance today is between a
memorable island experience and enough time to enjoy the setting
of your stay.
OVERNIGHT · Langkawi
DAY 10
A Day to Enjoy Where You Are
Enjoy a full, unhurried day at your island accommodation. After
several days of discovery, this pause is part of the journey
rather than an empty space in the programme. Breakfast can be
leisurely, followed by time beside the water, a gentle beach
walk or reading in the shade. Your local team remains available
to help coordinate the day. Lunch and dinner are included, while
spa treatments or additional excursions can be arranged
separately if desired. There is no pressure to fill every hour:
today is about enjoying the comfort, surroundings and slower
rhythm of Langkawi.
OVERNIGHT · Langkawi
Langkawi · a landscape of islands and sheltered waters
DAY 11
Back to Kuala Lumpur — A Comfortable Pause
Transfer to Langkawi Airport and fly to Kuala Lumpur. Your
driver meets you for the transfer to your accommodation, where
the remainder of the day is kept light. This overnight stop is a
deliberate part of the design: it avoids depending on a same-day
domestic connection for the onward flight to Brunei. Depending
on arrival time, enjoy a relaxed lunch, a short outing or time
in your room. Your Midasia Routes team reviews the next day’s
arrangements and coordinates the airport transfer. Dinner is
included before a restful night.
OVERNIGHT · Kuala Lumpur
DAY 12
Brunei — Welcome to the Sultanate
Take the flight from Kuala Lumpur to Bandar Seri Begawan, with a
daytime arrival preferred when the operating schedule permits.
Meet your Brunei guide and transfer privately to your
accommodation. After settling in, begin a gentle introduction to
the capital, including the waterfront and an exterior view of
Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque. Your guide introduces the country’s
royal heritage, customs and daily life. The first afternoon
remains flexible around the actual flight time, with any
unfinished visits carried into Day 14. Enjoy dinner and your
first of two nights in Brunei.
OVERNIGHT · Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei
Brunei · a glimpse of local life
DAY 13
Ulu Temburong — Into Borneo’s Green Heart
Leave the capital for a guided excursion into the Temburong
rainforest region. The journey combines road and river travel
according to the selected park arrangements, followed by forest
exploration with the local team. Listen for wildlife and
discover the plants and ecological relationships that give the
forest its character. The elevated canopy experience involves
substantial steps and heights; it is included only for guests
comfortable with the conditions, with a gentler programme agreed
in advance where needed. Enjoy lunch during the excursion, then
return to Bandar Seri Begawan. Dinner and a restful evening
complete your second night in Brunei.
OVERNIGHT · Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei
DAY 14
Royal Heritage & a World on Water
Explore the Royal Regalia Museum and visit Kampong Ayer, where
houses and walkways rise above the Brunei River. A boat journey
introduces the settlement, followed by selected boardwalks and
cultural interpretation with your guide. Visits follow local
opening hours and religious observances. Enjoy lunch before your
private airport transfer for the return flight to Kuala Lumpur;
an evening service is preferred to allow a useful final day in
Brunei. On arrival, meet your Malaysian driver and transfer to
your accommodation. Dinner is timed around the flight. This
final Kuala Lumpur overnight separates the regional journey from
your international departure.
OVERNIGHT · Kuala Lumpur
Kampong Ayer · life along the Brunei River
DAY 15
Kuala Lumpur — A Thoughtful Farewell
Enjoy breakfast and a relaxed start according to your onward
flight. Your Midasia Routes team coordinates the private
transfer to Kuala Lumpur International Airport and departure
assistance within permitted airport access. If your flight
leaves later, additional room use or a short private outing can
be arranged in advance. The journey ends where it began, after
the cultural variety of Malaysia, time beside Langkawi’s sea and
a focused introduction to Brunei. Leave with more than a list of
places visited: the conversations, landscapes and small moments
of personal discovery that have connected the route together.
