Three Himalayan cultures unfold in one carefully managed journey: Nepal’s Newar heritage, the high-altitude sacred world of Lhasa and Bhutan’s forested valleys. The routing returns through Kathmandu between Tibet and Bhutan because direct services cannot be assumed. Acclimatization and permit realities determine the pace.
Tibet travel requires advance permits, an authorized local guide and a confirmed group/permit framework even for privately arranged services. Midasia coordinates applications and flights but never presents approval or schedules as unconditional. Bhutan visas, private guiding and the final Tiger’s Nest walk are integrated around those realities.

Your Journey, Day by Day
14 days. A world of discovery.
Follow the journey from its personal welcome to the final farewell. Each day has its own character, with the route, visits and practical rhythm brought together below.
01
The Himalayan Story Begins
A Midasia representative welcomes you at Kathmandu airport and escorts you privately to the hotel. After rest, meet the coordinating guide for a detailed briefing on Tibet permits, baggage, altitude and the flight sequence linking the three countries. A welcome dinner introduces Nepal while keeping the first evening relaxed. Overnight in Kathmandu.
02
Boudhanath, Patan and Living Faith
Explore Boudhanath among pilgrims, then continue to Patan’s royal square and artisan lanes. The guide draws connections between Newar Buddhism and the Tibetan traditions ahead without treating them as identical. After lunch, complete the Tibet document check and prepare a lighter flight bag. The evening is intentionally quiet before the rapid change in elevation. Overnight in Kathmandu.
03
Fly onto the Tibetan Plateau
Fly from Kathmandu to Lhasa only when the sector and permits are confirmed. Meet the authorized Tibetan guide and transfer slowly to the hotel. No formal sightseeing is scheduled. Hydration, a light meal and rest are essential as the body adjusts to approximately 3,650 meters. The guide explains symptoms that must be reported and confirms the following day according to individual response. Overnight in Lhasa.
04
Acclimatization Through Gentle Discovery
Begin late and move slowly through a low-intensity introduction to Lhasa, perhaps including Norbulingka gardens or a quiet neighborhood walk. Avoid strenuous stairs and allow generous time for rest. The guide discusses Tibetan history and contemporary life while monitoring comfort. A simple lunch and early return to the hotel preserve the acclimatization plan. Overnight in Lhasa.
05
Potala Palace and the Sacred City
Visit the Potala Palace at the assigned entry time, climbing its stairs gradually and pausing whenever required. Continue to Jokhang Temple and join the outer rhythm of pilgrims on Barkhor Street. Security procedures, opening times and photography restrictions are respected. The day is rich but carefully divided with lunch and recovery time. Overnight in Lhasa.
06
Monasteries and Monastic Debate
Explore one or two major monastic centers, selected from Drepung, Sera or Ganden according to access and the final permit. Ceremonies and debates are never guaranteed, but the guide interprets architecture, study traditions and daily religious life. A short walk may be added if altitude response is strong. Return early enough for rest. Overnight in Lhasa.
07
Return Below the High Plateau
Fly back to Kathmandu on the confirmed service. This return sector is intentionally included because a direct Lhasa–Paro connection cannot be assumed. Transfer privately to the hotel and spend the remainder of the day resting, enjoying the spa or organizing luggage for Bhutan. The local team reconfirms the Paro flight and entry documents. Overnight in Kathmandu.
Tiger’s Nest above the Paro Valley
08
Fly into Bhutan’s Forested Valleys
Fly to Paro and meet the private Bhutanese guide and driver. Continue gently to Thimphu, noticing the dramatic change from Tibet’s plateau to river valleys and forest. Visit the memorial chorten or take an orientation walk according to arrival time. Dinner is relaxed and the guide introduces Bhutan’s history and customs. Overnight in Thimphu.
09
Craft, Governance and Contemporary Bhutan
Explore the capital through living faith, traditional arts and contemporary institutions. Visit the great Buddha, a textile or craft center and Tashichho Dzong when official schedules allow. Meet artisans through a confirmed appointment and discuss Bhutan’s environmental and social policies without reducing the country to easy slogans. Overnight in Thimphu.
10
Prayer Flags Across Dochula
Cross Dochula Pass among 108 chortens, with Himalayan views possible in clear weather. Descend into Punakha and walk through rice fields toward Chimi Lhakhang. Settle for two nights and enjoy the warmer valley climate after Lhasa. The afternoon pace remains flexible, recognizing the cumulative demands of international flights and altitude. Overnight in Punakha.
11
The Palace of Great Happiness
Visit Punakha Dzong between the Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu rivers, then choose a village walk, suspension bridge crossing or hike to Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chorten. A gentle rafting excursion can be arranged when water levels and guest interest align. Return to the same hotel for rest and wellness time. Overnight in Punakha.
12
Westward to Paro
Drive through the passes toward Paro, stopping for tea, photography and a short walk. Explore Paro Dzong and the national museum according to opening hours, then settle for two nights. The guide reviews the Tiger’s Nest hike and helps choose between the monastery and cafeteria viewpoint based on personal energy. Overnight in Paro.
13
Tiger’s Nest: The Final Pilgrimage
Begin early for the ascent through pine forest to Taktsang. The full return visit normally requires five to seven hours including rest and monastery time. The private guide controls pace and carries essentials; turning at the viewpoint is always respected. A farewell dinner reflects on Kathmandu’s courtyards, Lhasa’s pilgrimage circuits and Bhutan’s forest monasteries. Overnight in Paro.
14
Three Worlds, One Personal Journey
After breakfast, receive luggage assistance and a private transfer to Paro airport. Departure support is provided as locally permitted. Leave with a carefully earned understanding of three Himalayan societies, experienced with time for acclimatization, cultural context and personal care.
