This cultural and nature-led private journey brings together Nepal’s living heritage and wildlife-rich lowlands with Bhutan’s serene western valleys. Three- and two-night bases replace constant packing, while private guides interpret the religious traditions, crafts and contemporary life that connect—and distinguish—the two Himalayan kingdoms.
Midasia coordinates the international sector between Nepal and Bhutan, visas and permits, private vehicles, naturalists, carefully selected accommodation and continuous local support. Tiger’s Nest is paced individually, and wildlife, ceremonial access and Himalayan aviation are always described honestly.

Your Journey, Day by Day
14 days. A world of discovery.
Follow the journey from its personal welcome to the final farewell. Each day has its own character, with the route, visits and practical rhythm brought together below.
01
A Personal Himalayan Welcome
A Midasia representative welcomes you at Kathmandu airport, assists with luggage and escorts you privately to the hotel. The afternoon remains open for rest. Later, meet your Nepal guide for a personal briefing covering interests, mobility, dietary needs and the transition to Bhutan. A refined welcome dinner introduces the flavors and hospitality of the Kathmandu Valley. Overnight in Kathmandu.
02
Sacred Kathmandu at Dawn
Begin at Boudhanath as pilgrims circle the great stupa, then continue to Pashupatinath for a sensitive explanation of Hindu ritual along the Bagmati. After lunch, explore Patan’s royal courtyards and artisan lanes, meeting a craftsperson when a genuine appointment is available. The private pace allows time for questions and quiet observation rather than hurried monument collecting. Overnight in Kathmandu.
03
Bhaktapur, Potters and Valley Life
Walk through Bhaktapur’s brick squares before the busiest hours, exploring temple courtyards, carved windows and Potters’ Square. Continue to a rural edge of the valley for lunch and an easy village walk, or return for spa time if preferred. Your guide connects Newar religious life, architecture and craft traditions to the broader Himalayan story. Overnight in Kathmandu.
04
From the Valley to the Terai
Travel privately to Chitwan through river valleys and market towns, with clean comfort stops and refreshments in the vehicle. Arrive at the jungle retreat for lunch and meet the resident naturalist. A late-afternoon nature walk or riverbank excursion introduces the subtropical environment. The exact order of activities is adjusted to water levels, park rules and wildlife movement. Overnight in Chitwan.
05
River, Forest and Rhino Country
Explore Chitwan with expert naturalists by canoe, jeep, walking trail or a combination permitted by current park conditions. Search for one-horned rhinoceros, deer, crocodiles and prolific birdlife without promising sightings. Later, learn about Tharu culture through a respectfully arranged village encounter or performance that fairly benefits local participants. Return to the lodge for an unhurried evening. Overnight in Chitwan.
06
Return to the Himalayan Capital
Return to Kathmandu by the most practical confirmed arrangement—private road transfer or scheduled domestic flight. On arrival, settle back into the hotel and enjoy a free afternoon for rest, shopping or a spa treatment. The Bhutan documents and baggage allowance are checked with the Midasia team, protecting the following morning’s international sector. Overnight in Kathmandu.
07
Fly to the Land of the Thunder Dragon
Fly from Kathmandu to Paro when scheduled, with Himalayan views possible in clear weather. After immigration, meet the private Bhutanese guide and driver and continue to Thimphu. Pause beside the river or at a scenic viewpoint before settling into the hotel. An introductory walk and dinner reveal a capital where traditional dress, monasteries and contemporary life coexist. Overnight in Thimphu.
The green valleys of Punakha
08
Craft, Faith and Modern Bhutan
Join residents around the memorial chorten, visit a carefully selected textile or traditional arts institution and meet an artisan when available. Continue to the great Buddha overlooking the valley and explore the capital’s quality craft outlets. The guide explains Gross National Happiness without reducing Bhutan to a slogan, discussing education, environment and rapid social change. Overnight in Thimphu.
09
Across Dochula to the Ancient Capital
Cross Dochula Pass among prayer flags and 108 chortens, pausing for mountain views when skies permit. Descend into warmer Punakha and walk through rice fields toward Chimi Lhakhang, adjusting the route to guest comfort. Settle for two nights in the valley, where a slower pace allows landscape and village life to become part of the experience. Overnight in Punakha.
10
The Dzong Between Two Rivers
Explore Punakha Dzong at the confluence of the Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu, entering visitor-accessible courtyards and sacred spaces with respect. Cross a suspension bridge if comfortable, then choose a village walk, riverside picnic or hike toward Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chorten. The afternoon allows wellness time or a private archery introduction. Overnight in Punakha.
11
Return Through the Mountain Pass
Travel west toward Paro with thoughtful stops rather than repeating the outward drive. Continue along the Pa Chhu into a broad agricultural valley framed by forested ridges. After lunch, visit Paro Dzong or the national museum according to timing and opening schedules. Settle for three nights, avoiding another change before the final pilgrimage. Overnight in Paro.
12
Farmhouses, Food and Living Tradition
Explore the Paro countryside through an easy private walk, farmhouse encounter or seasonal agricultural visit. Try archery, learn about Bhutanese cooking or visit a local craft workshop according to personal interests. The afternoon remains measured, giving fresh legs for Tiger’s Nest. Your guide explains the trail, steps, rest points and options for a shorter objective. Overnight in Paro.
13
Tiger’s Nest at Your Own Pace
Begin early for the hike to Taktsang, climbing through pine forest to the celebrated cliffside monastery. A full return visit generally requires five to seven hours including stops; the cafeteria viewpoint is a worthy alternative. The private guide sets a safe pace and carries essentials. Conclude with a farewell dinner and an appropriate blessing or butter-lamp offering when available. Overnight in Paro.
14
A Graceful Farewell
After breakfast, your guide and Midasia representative assist with luggage and accompany the private transfer to Paro airport. Departure support is provided as locally permitted. Leave with memories of two distinct Himalayan worlds—Kathmandu’s courtyards and Chitwan’s forests, Bhutan’s valleys and the sacred trail to Tiger’s Nest.
