This luxury private Annapurna trek follows lower-altitude village paths rather than pushing toward a high pass or base camp. Days are active and genuine: stone steps, forest trails, terraced hillsides and changing elevation remain part of the experience. The reward is an intimate relationship with the landscape and the Gurung communities who call it home.
Midasia Routes provides private guiding, porter support, carefully selected rooms, nourishing meals, luggage coordination and flexibility when weather or personal energy changes the plan. Luxury here is not marble in the mountains; it is a hot shower where available, a welcoming room, an excellent guide and the confidence that every detail is being watched.

Your Journey, Day by Day
11 days. A world of discovery.
Follow the journey from its personal welcome to the final farewell. Each day has its own character, with the route, visits and practical rhythm brought together below.
01
Arrive with Midasia Care
A Midasia representative welcomes you at Kathmandu airport, assists with luggage and escorts you by private vehicle to the hotel. The first afternoon remains open for rest. Later, meet the private guide who will accompany the journey and review footwear, walking ability, dietary needs and the mountain-weather plan. This personal briefing is important: it allows the guide to adjust the route before the trail begins rather than react after discomfort develops. A welcome dinner introduces Nepalese flavors in a refined setting. Overnight in Kathmandu.
02
Living Heritage Before the Mountains
Explore Boudhanath in the early morning as pilgrims circle the great stupa, then continue to Patan’s royal square and artisan lanes. Your private guide connects the Buddhist and Hindu traditions that shape the communities encountered later in the hills. Lunch is arranged in a characterful local restaurant. The afternoon includes time with a craftsperson or a carefully selected museum, followed by a final equipment check. There is no need to buy unnecessary expedition gear: this is a lodge journey at moderate elevation, though reliable walking shoes and layered clothing are essential. Overnight in Kathmandu.
03
Fly Along the Himalayan Wall
Transfer privately to the airport for the flight to Pokhara, subject to operating conditions and mountain weather. When skies are clear, the Himalayan panorama accompanies much of the journey. Settle into a comfortable retreat and meet the local trekking team. After lunch, enjoy a gentle lakeside walk and a private boat outing when conditions permit. The afternoon is intentionally easy, allowing the body to prepare for the trail. Your guide gives a precise explanation of the following day’s elevation, walking time and terrain. Overnight in Pokhara.
04
The First Footsteps
Drive into the foothills and begin walking through farmland, forest and small settlements toward the Dhampus area. The route is selected according to current road access and guest ability, generally involving several hours of moderate walking with breaks. Porters carry the main luggage while guests walk with a light daypack. Arrive at the lodge in time for tea and, in clear weather, broad views toward Machhapuchhre and the Annapurna range. Dinner is served at the lodge. The guide checks comfort and makes any sensible adjustment to the next day’s pace. Overnight in the Dhampus region.
05
Terraces, Forest and Village Life
Walk deeper into the foothills along a route of stone paths, terraced slopes and forest. The terrain includes both climbs and descents; walking poles are helpful, particularly on steps. Pause in villages for tea and conversation without turning local life into a staged attraction. Lunch is taken on the trail or at a lodge, depending on timing. The day finishes in the Landruk area, where the rhythm slows and mountain life feels close. Rooms are simple by city-luxury standards but chosen for cleanliness, location, private facilities where available and genuine hospitality. Overnight in the Landruk region.
Village landscapes in the Annapurna region
06
Across the Valley to Ghandruk
Today’s walk crosses changing terrain toward Ghandruk, one of the Annapurna region’s best-known Gurung villages. Depending on the confirmed path, the day may involve a substantial descent followed by a steady climb; the guide sets a measured rhythm and schedules frequent stops. Arrive among traditional stone houses with the mountains rising dramatically beyond the village. After settling into the lodge, take a short orientation walk and learn about Gurung heritage and the long relationship between this region and Gurkha military service. Overnight in Ghandruk.
07
A Full Day Beneath the Annapurnas
Staying a second night avoids the usual pattern of arriving late and leaving early. If the morning is clear, rise for sunrise over Annapurna South, Hiunchuli and Machhapuchhre, then return for breakfast. Choose between a longer guided hike or a gentler village day. Visit a local museum or community initiative when open, walk through upper neighbourhoods and enjoy lunch with mountain views. The afternoon allows time to rest, read or photograph the changing light. This flexible day is one of the journey’s luxuries: the experience adapts to the guest rather than forcing everyone through an identical schedule. Overnight in Ghandruk.
08
Leave the Trail, Keep the Mountains
After breakfast, descend from Ghandruk by the most appropriate current trail to the vehicle meeting point. Stone steps can be demanding on the knees, so the guide controls the pace and porter support remains available. Continue privately to Pokhara, arriving at the retreat for a hot shower, unhurried lunch and a well-earned afternoon at leisure. A spa treatment can be arranged in advance. At sunset, enjoy the Annapurna skyline from the property or a quiet viewpoint, reflecting on the villages crossed on foot. Overnight in Pokhara.
09
Pokhara at a Softer Pace
Enjoy a relaxed day after the trek. Visit a Himalayan or regional museum with your guide, explore the lake by private boat when conditions allow, and enjoy lunch in an attractive setting. Those who want more activity may add a gentle ridge walk; others can choose the spa, pool or an independent lakeside afternoon. Because this is a private journey, recovery is treated as part of good design rather than empty time. A special dinner can be arranged for the final evening in Pokhara. Overnight in Pokhara.
10
Return to the Valley
Fly to Kathmandu, subject to weather and operations, with a private road transfer held as the practical alternative. On arrival, return to the hotel and enjoy an included lunch. The afternoon remains available for craft shopping with informed assistance, a spa treatment or a final cultural visit tailored to personal interest. Gather in the evening for a farewell dinner celebrating a journey measured not only in miles, but in village paths, shared tea and mornings beneath the Himalayas. Overnight in Kathmandu.
11
A Personal Farewell
Breakfast is served at the hotel. At the appropriate time, a Midasia representative assists with luggage and accompanies the private transfer to Kathmandu International Airport. Airport help is provided as locally permitted. Guests with a late departure may add a day room or a gentle final program. The journey concludes with the same personal attention that shaped the arrival, and with a deeper understanding of Nepal earned one thoughtful step at a time.
