Your Journey, Day by Day
15 days. A world of discovery.
Follow the journey from its personal welcome to the final farewell. Each day has its own character, with the route, visits and practical rhythm brought together below.
01
Welcome to the Arabian Sea
Your Midasia guide and chauffeur welcome you at Jinnah International Airport, assist with luggage and escort you privately to the Marriott. The first day is kept free so that you can settle comfortably after the flight. Meet your guide for an introduction to the journey, from Sindh’s ancient cities and Sufi shrines to Lahore’s Mughal heritage and the capital. Discuss your preferred walking pace, food preferences and photographic interests, then enjoy the rest of the day at leisure.
02
Karachi: Faith, Coast and the Story of a Nation
Begin with the shrine of Abdullah Shah Ghazi, a place of living devotion overlooking the city’s coastal neighbourhoods. Continue to Clifton Beach and the National Museum, bringing the different chapters of Pakistan’s history into focus. View the exterior of the Mausoleum of Muhammad Ali Jinnah, whose white marble silhouette is one of Karachi’s defining landmarks. Your private guide connects these contrasting places through the stories of the people who shaped the city, with pauses arranged around the weather and your comfort.
03
Carved Stone and the Blue Tiles of Thatta
Leave Karachi after breakfast and travel towards Hyderabad through the historic landscapes of Sindh. At Makli Hill, explore an extraordinary necropolis whose carved tombs preserve the work of successive generations of builders and patrons. Continue to the Shah Jahan Mosque at Thatta, where geometric brickwork and brilliant glazed tiles create a strikingly different atmosphere. If time permits, pause at the Chaukhandi tombs and the ancient port of Bhanbore before continuing to Hyderabad. The guide allows time to appreciate the craftsmanship rather than simply moving from monument to monument.
04
Sindh’s Living Sufi Traditions
Continue through Sindh towards Larkana, stopping at the shrines of Abdul Latif Bhittai and Lal Shahbaz Qalandar. These are living places of pilgrimage: poetry, devotion and community remain central to their identity. Your guide explains the traditions associated with the saints and helps you understand the etiquette of visiting respectfully. Photography and access follow the circumstances at each shrine. Continue to Larkana for the night, with private transport connecting the day’s visits and time to settle before tomorrow’s exploration of the ancient Indus world.
05
Mohenjo-daro and the Walls of Kot Diji
Explore Mohenjo-daro, one of the great archaeological sites of the Indus civilisation. Walk among the surviving brick structures with your guide and consider the organisation of a city that flourished thousands of years ago. The experience rewards a slow pace, with time to look closely at the layout and the details still visible in the ruins. In the afternoon, continue towards Ranipur and Kot Diji Fort, whose imposing defensive walls introduce a much later chapter of Sindh’s history. Finish the day in Sukkur.
06
The Blue-Tiled Tombs of Uch Sharif
A full road day takes you north towards Bahawalpur. Break the journey at Uch Sharif to visit the celebrated tomb of Bibi Jawindi, where tilework and monumental form create one of southern Punjab’s most memorable sights. Your guide places this sacred landscape in the wider story of Sufi pilgrimage and the movement of ideas through the Indus region. Continue to Bahawalpur and settle into the hotel. The private journey allows for practical comfort stops along the way without adding unnecessary sightseeing to an already substantial travel day.
07
A Fortress on the Desert Horizon
Drive into the Cholistan landscape to Derawar Fort, its massive circular bastions rising above the surrounding plains. Explore the fort as access permits and visit the royal tombs of the Bahawalpur Nawabs, discovering the region’s princely heritage through architecture and local history. A village visit brings the day back to the present, offering a more personal sense of life in this landscape. Return to Bahawalpur for a second night, with time to rest after the desert excursion.
Lahore in the golden evening light
08
Multan: The City of Saints
Travel to Multan, a city closely associated with Sufi scholarship and pilgrimage. Visit the shrines of Shah Rukn-i-Alam, Bahauddin Zakariya and Shams Tabraz, each part of a living spiritual landscape. Your guide explains the distinctive architectural forms, the significance of the saints and the customs observed by visitors. Spend time in the Old Bazaar, where daily commerce and traditional crafts add texture to the monumental visits. Settle into the Ramada for the evening after a day devoted to the cultural depth of southern Punjab.
09
Harappa and the Road to Lahore
Continue north towards Lahore, stopping at Harappa to explore another important centre of the Indus civilisation. Having already visited Mohenjo-daro, you can compare the surviving evidence and consider how these cities connected across a much larger cultural world. Your guide helps distinguish the archaeological remains from later interpretations, making the visit meaningful even where little stands above ground. Resume the road journey to Lahore and check in at the Avari. The following three days are dedicated to the city’s museums, monuments, old quarters and the Wagah ceremony.
10
Lahore’s Royal Heart
Begin the three-day Lahore chapter with Lahore Fort and Badshahi Mosque. Together they offer a powerful introduction to the scale, artistry and ceremonial life of the Mughal city. Walk through the areas open to visitors with your guide, allowing time for architectural details and photography. The Lahore visits across Days 10–12 are arranged as one connected city program, so their order can respond to opening hours and the timing of the border ceremony. Return to the Avari after a day centred on the city’s royal heritage.
11
Museum Stories and the Living Old City
Continue exploring Lahore with the museum and the old town, connecting objects, architecture and the life of the streets. The program includes local shrines and mosques as well as the historic quarters, with your guide selecting an appropriate walking rhythm and explaining etiquette at religious places. This is a day for looking closely: a carved doorway, a courtyard, the movement of a bazaar and the layers of history visible between major monuments. Return to the same hotel, keeping the Lahore stay comfortable and unhurried.
12
Lahore and the Wagah Ceremony
Use the final Lahore day to complete the planned city visits before travelling east to Wagah for the flag-lowering ceremony. Your guide coordinates the movement around the ceremony’s operating arrangements and explains the context of this distinctive border ritual. The day completes the same three-day Lahore program of museum, fort, Badshahi Mosque, old town, local shrines and mosques. Return to Lahore for the evening, carrying a fuller impression of the city than a single hurried day could provide.
13
From Lahore to the Capital
After breakfast, leave Lahore and travel by motorway to Islamabad. Today is a straightforward transfer day, allowing the journey to change pace after the rich sequence of southern cities and monuments. Comfort stops are taken along the way before reaching the capital in the late afternoon. Check in at the Mövenpick and enjoy time to relax. Your guide reviews the following day’s visits, leaving the evening free rather than adding a demanding sightseeing program after the road journey.
14
Islamabad: A Capital in the Hills
Explore Islamabad with your private guide, visiting the Pakistan Monument, Faisal Mosque, Lok Virsa Museum and Saidpur Village. The day moves between national identity, religious architecture, cultural collections and the older village landscape at the edge of the capital. It is a fitting final chapter after travelling from Karachi through the Indus region and Punjab: a contemporary view of the country beside the historical worlds already encountered. Return to the hotel for your final evening in Pakistan.
15
A Personal Farewell
Enjoy breakfast before your private transfer to Islamabad International Airport. Your Midasia team assists with luggage and the practical details of departure as locally permitted. The journey closes with memories of Sindh’s carved tombs, the Indus cities, Sufi shrines, the desert walls of Derawar and Lahore’s great monuments, all connected by the personal care of your guide and driver.
