Egypt Beneath the Darkened Sun
Trusted by thousands of happy travelers
On 2 August 2027, daylight will fade above Luxor as the Moon passes directly before the Sun. The temperature will fall, the horizon will glow and the solar corona will appear above the ancient landscape of Thebes.
Midasia Routes invites only eight travellers to experience this rare moment through a beautifully managed private journey—three nights in Cairo, a special four-night Nile cruise and a dedicated eclipse-viewing arrangement near Luxor.
WHY THIS JOURNEY IS DIFFERENT
• A dedicated eclipse location selected for clear horizons and controlled access
• Certified eclipse glasses and a pre-event safety briefing
• VIP airport welcome, fast-track assistance where available and private transfers
• An intimate group of only eight travellers
• A private Egyptologist and Midasia Routes care throughout
CAIRO - A VIP WELCOME TO EGYPT
From the moment the aircraft reaches Cairo, the journey begins with calm, personal care. A Midasia Routes
airport representative welcomes guests at the earliest permitted point, assists through the fastest available
immigration channel, coordinates baggage handling and escorts the group to a private luxury vehicle. Chilled
water and refreshments are waiting for the transfer to the hotel. After assisted check-in, the remainder of the
day is intentionally unhurried. In the evening, gather for a private welcome dinner overlooking the timeless
city and meet the Egyptologist who will accompany the journey.
THE MIDASIA TOUCH: Personal name board, priority airport assistance, porterage and a welcome amenity in
every room.

GIZA, SAQQARA & THE GRAND EGYPTIAN MUSEUM
Begin before the busiest hours on the Giza Plateau. Stand before the Great Pyramid of Khufu, walk to carefully
chosen viewpoints and meet the Sphinx with an expert who turns stone and chronology into living history.
Continue to Saqqara, where the Step Pyramid reveals the architectural beginnings of pyramid building. After
lunch, enter the Grand Egyptian Museum near Giza. Its monumental galleries bring together the royal world of
ancient Egypt, including the treasures associated with Tutankhamun. Return to the hotel for time to rest
before dinner.
THE MIDASIA TOUCH: A carefully timed start, bottled water, shaded rest stops and reserved museum
admission reduce waiting and preserve comfort.
Stay / meals: Cairo | Breakfast, lunch and dinner
CAIRO THROUGH THE AGES
Explore Cairo as a city of many civilizations. Visit the Citadel and the Mosque of Muhammad Ali, then enter
the historic lanes of Islamic Cairo, where carved stone, old gateways and the atmosphere of Khan el-Khalili
reveal another side of the capital. A refined lunch is arranged before a visit to Coptic Cairo, including selected
churches and historic sites. The evening is kept relaxed, allowing guests to prepare for the Nile and the
eclipse journey ahead.
THE MIDASIA TOUCH: The sightseeing pace remains flexible, with the vehicle close by and restaurant
arrangements checked in advance.

FLY TO LUXOR - BOARD THE SPECIAL ECLIPSE CRUISE
After breakfast, transfer privately to Cairo Airport with luggage and check-in assistance. Fly to Luxor, where
the Nile, temples and Theban mountains immediately change the rhythm of the journey. Board the specially
arranged luxury cruise and settle into an outside-facing cabin. After lunch, visit Karnak’s monumental
avenues, pylons and Hypostyle Hall, followed by Luxor Temple in the softer light of late afternoon. Back on
board, attend a specialist eclipse briefing covering timing, eye safety, photography and what to expect as
totality approaches.
THE MIDASIA TOUCH: Domestic-flight coordination, luggage handling, cabin welcome gifts and certified
eclipse glasses presented during the private briefing.
Stay / meals: Nile cruise | Breakfast, lunch and dinner
TOTALITY OVER LUXOR
This is the day around which the entire journey has been designed. Depart early for the dedicated observation
area near Luxor, selected for a broad horizon, managed access and proximity to the centre of the eclipse
path. A comfortable private setup includes shaded seating, refreshments, protective glasses and specialist
guidance. As the partial phase advances, the light changes almost imperceptibly. Then the landscape
darkens, the horizon glows and the corona appears around the hidden Sun. After totality, remain in place until
it is safe to depart. Return to the cruise for a celebratory lunch and a deliberately gentle afternoon.
THE MIDASIA TOUCH: Controlled viewing arrangements, certified eye protection, shaded comfort,
refreshments and a commemorative eclipse keepsake.
Stay / meals: Nile cruise | Breakfast, lunch and celebration dinner
THE WEST BANK & SAILING SOUTH
Cross to Luxor’s West Bank for the Valley of the Kings, where decorated royal tombs descend into the desert
cliffs. Continue to the Temple of Hatshepsut and pause before the Colossi of Memnon. The Egyptologist
selects the most rewarding tombs available on the day and manages the visit around heat and visitor flow.
Return for lunch as the ship begins sailing south through the green ribbon of the Nile Valley. Pass Esna and
watch villages, fields and palms unfold from the deck.
THE MIDASIA TOUCH: Early access timing, included tomb admissions, cold towels and refreshments waiting
after the West Bank exploration.
Stay / meals: Nile cruise | Breakfast, lunch and celebration dinner
EDFU, KOM OMBO & THE NILE AT SUNSET
Visit the remarkably preserved Temple of Horus at Edfu, whose walls and courtyards reveal the ceremonial
world of the Ptolemies. Return to the cruise and continue through a landscape that has carried travellers for
millennia. Later, step ashore at Kom Ombo, dramatically positioned beside the Nile and dedicated to two
divine traditions. As evening approaches, sail toward Aswan and gather for a farewell dinner, reflecting on
temples, river life and the rare minutes when the Sun disappeared above Luxor.
THE MIDASIA TOUCH: Private interpretation, cool drinks after each temple visit and a farewell dinner arranged
for the eight eclipse travellers.
Stay / meals: Nile cruise | Breakfast, lunch and dinner
ASWAN - A GRACEFUL FAREWELL
Wake in Aswan, where granite islands and feluccas soften the river landscape. After breakfast and
disembarkation, visit the beautiful Philae Temple, reached by boat and reconstructed above the waters of
Lake Nasser. Continue to selected Aswan highlights according to flight time. Lunch is included before transfer
to Aswan Airport for the flight to Cairo and onward international connection. Airport assistance is coordinated
at each stage, bringing the journey to a smooth and attentive close.
THE MIDASIA TOUCH: Luggage management, domestic-flight assistance and coordinated onward connection
support in Cairo.

IMPORTANT
The eclipse and its duration are natural astronomical events. Viewing is weather-dependent. The programme,
cruise sequence and observation location may be adjusted when required for safety, access or operational
reasons. Certified solar filters must be used throughout all partial phases and may be removed only during
confirmed totality under specialist instruction. Early-bird space is limited to eight travellers and is subject to
availability at the time of deposit.
Speak directly with our Egypt specialist. We will answer every question personally and guide you through the reservation, flights, room preferences and preparations for eclipse day.
Outside-facing cabins, gracious service, refined dining and evenings glowing above the timeless river.
The observation area near Luxor is selected for its broad horizon and controlled access. Shaded seating, refreshments, certified eclipse glasses and specialist guidance allow guests to focus completely on the changing light and the solar corona.
After totality, return to the Nile cruise for a celebratory lunch and an unhurried afternoon—because a moment this powerful deserves space to be absorbed.
